Message From Pettyjohn Family

Robert and Karen Pettyjohn are the owners of the Wake Forest, NC-based Rugwasher. They have been cleaning oriental rugs & carpets in the Wake Forest, Raleigh, and Greater Triangle area for the past 35+ years! During that time they have completed instructional courses in a variety of carpet cleaning areas. These include Oriental Rug Cleaning; Persian and other Carpet Cleaning, as well as Advanced Carpet Cleaning; Oriental Rug Repair; Upholstery Cleaning and Advanced Upholstery Cleaning; Odor Control; Smoke and Fire Restoration; Water Damage Restoration; Carpet Repair and Reinstallation; and Carpet Color Repair. These certifications have been achieved through attending classes and completing written exams. We focus on consumer education and have dedicated our company to providing the latest information so you, the consumer, can make an educated decision on choosing the right carpet cleaning company. Upon request, we can provide consumer information that will inform you about the differences in carpet cleaning methods and provide questions to ask a rug cleaner before inviting them into your home. This consumer information is provided in a booklet form and may be obtained by calling 919-556-4641 or emailing your request. Rugwasher is sought out by the major carpet manufacturers, Dupont, Solutia, Stainmaster, Beaulieu, and Monsanno, to provide service for their warranty customers. Providing service for the manufacturers requires expertise that most carpet cleaning companies cannot provide. Our cleaning process allows clients to maintain warranties on new carpet, and we are often recommended by name for such services.

Oriental Rug Cleaning

No area rug cleaning replaces occasional professional rug cleaning. Even with regular home care, professional oriental area rug cleaning is a must to extend the life of your rug and bring out its natural beauty and bright colors. The average time recommended between professional cleanings is every 12-18 months. However, if your rug is in a heavy traffic area, if you have pets, or if you suffer form airborne allergies, you may need to clean more often.

Upholstery Cleaning

At Pettyjohn’s, we make it our duty to treat your upholstery as we would our own. Our cleaning experts will test first to ensure that it can safely undergo our deep cleaning process, then thoroughly vacuum each upholstery cleaning item to remove any dry particulate soiling. If it is not 100% safe for your upholstery cleaning, we will perform dry cleaning instead.
