Veteran Appreciation

The Pettyjohn family is deeply rooted in military appreciation. From Robert’s father, Bobby Pettyjohn, serving in the Army in the early 1905’s to Karen’s father, Clyde Chapman, with a 40+ year career in the South Carolina National Guard as Chief Warrant Officer, the Pettyjohn’s are keenly aware of the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. With the addition of Andrew Reuther to the Pettyjohn family (by marriage, to Robert’s daughter Katie,) we are well connected to many local veterans groups.
A proud supporter of the Wake Forest Purple Heart Foundation, Katie Reuther currently sits on the Board of Directors for the organization that honors local Purple Heart recipients with an annual banquet that is open to the community. Pettyjohn’s has supported this organization since its conception in 2008. For information on the Wake Forest Purple Heart Foundation, visit their Facebook or Website.
Pettyjohn’s Cleaning is also proud to be a supporter of the North Carolina group ‘Ladies of Valor’ in their work to make and distribute these quilts to the veterans who have given so much to our country. The Ladies of Valor, based in Wake Forest, North Carolina, is a volunteer group affiliated with the ‘Quilts of Valor Foundation,’ whose mission is to sew quilts for combat service members and veterans that have been affected by their service to our country. The foundation has been able to distribute some 90,000 quilts since its founding 10 years ago. Pettyjohn’s applied a fine fabric protector to these handmade quilts, to ensure their longevity.
